We have recently learned that there have been unnecessary visits done to the campus that is Makana (formerly cedar ridge). This came at a time when Utah was under a state of emergency for Covid 19 cases and hospitalizations. We have seen photographs of staff and visitors without face coverings or distance between them. This is another red flag of what the bottom line is to Makana (formerly Cedar Ridge).

As a social worker who works in community based programs which have been deemed to be the most effective for helping your troubled teen there is a recommendation to not have any outsider contact in the living spaces of your students. To protect students health above anything else. The CDC recommends limiting visitors to the facility to only those essential for the patient’s physical or emotional well-being and care. We find it very disturbing that Makana put trying to protect their image over the health and wellbeing of the children in their care. To fly out students from other highly affected covid sites, through infected airports, into infected hotels onto their campus. We see this blatant disregard as another red flag over their entire program.
